Ipswich 100: Cuneiform Clay Tablet Workshop

Ipswich County Library
Aug 6, 2024 1:00 PM

Celebrate library history by learning one of the oldest forms of writing known. During this 3-hour session we will explore the first signs of written language, translate secret messages, and create our own clay cuneiform tablets. We’ll practice traditional hand-building techniques and use specially made tools for mark marking. Your cuneiform tablets will then be fired in a kiln and delivered back to Ipswich County Library for you to collect and take home.

Booking is required. Attendance is free but spaces are limited. Book your place online →

This event is suitable for adults and young people aged 12+.
