People living in and around Great Cornard are being asked for their views on proposed improvements to their local library.
Suffolk Libraries is carrying out a public consultation on plans to redesign and improve the children’s library and reception area at Great Cornard Library.
Detailed plans showing the proposed changes are on display in the library. Please view these before filling in the survey. You can also view an overview for the children’s area on this PDF (opens in a new tab).
The proposals involve relocating the reception desk to create a bigger, more welcoming and flexible space for the library’s activities. The children’s library area will also be improved with new colourful furniture including a storywall with a starlight hideaway.
Suffolk Libraries would be very grateful if anyone in the local community can spend a couple of minutes filling in a survey about their views on the plans and their general use of the library. The survey can be filled in via this online survey link or paper copies are also available in the library.
The deadline for responses is Friday 21 February.
It is hoped that funding for the work could be allocated via Babergh District Council's Community Infrastructure Levy through its bidding process, with additional support from the Friends of Great Cornard Library. If approved, the work may be carried out later this year.
