Freegal Music+: an update on our free music streaming service

Freegal Music, our free music streaming service available to all Suffolk Libraries customers, has recently been updated to improve the service for users.

Freegal gives you access to millions of songs, from new releases to the classics. The app and web player allow you to download or stream music to your phone, tablet or PC.

The new version is called Freegal Music+. Customers will still have access to featured and trending albums, playlists and songs, now with a more intuitive design and easier navigation.

What’s new:

  • A brand new user-friendly, modern and intuitive user interface
  • Easier navigation with a browsing menu on the homepage
  • AI-powered recommendations engine to help users discover new songs and artists, tailored for each user
  • Easier to add playlists, songs and albums to your favourites
  • New pages for ‘Spotlight’, ‘What’s Hot’ and ‘Genres’ for easier browsing
  • Redesigned ‘My Music’ page for all your favourite music in one place.

Customers new to the service can find detailed guides on our website to help you get started with Freegal.

Suffolk Libraries regularly publishes recommendations for titles available on our free eLibrary services, including Freegal, Libby, BorrowBox and Kanopy.
