Fundraise with Suffolk Libraries

The Orwell Challenge

We are looking for families and individuals who would like to take part in the Rotary Club's Orwell Challenge in June and raise money for Suffolk Libraries.

Are you up for the challenge?

We're looking for families and individuals who would like to take part in the Rotary Club's Orwell Challenge in June and raise money for Suffolk Libraries!

The Rotary Club of Ipswich East has been holding its annual charity walk along the banks of the glorious River Orwell for over 40 years. The Orwell Challenge is a great opportunity for people to get outside in the fresh air, feel part of a team, and to help raise money and spread the word about the great work we do in communities across the county.

You can sign up to walk with family, friends, or even colleagues!

About the Orwell Challenge

The 47th Orwell Challenge will take place on Sunday 23 June 2024, and is open to anyone aged 17 or over.

Challengers can choose from a half marathon (13 miles), a full marathon (19 miles), or an ultra marathon (25 miles), but people have the option to walk the three miles to the first base with every step of the walk taking in the beautiful Suffolk countryside.

How to register

All those registering for the Orwell Challenge intending to raise funds for Suffolk Libraries will receive a sports T-shirt to wear on the day in addition to the Orwell Challenge medal and certificate.

You can support our Walking Wonders by donating to our JustGiving page.
