The Friends of Thurston Library publish special fundraising recipe book for Platinum Jubilee

The Friends of Thurston Library have published a special fundraising recipe book to celebrate the Queens Platinum Jubilee.

Thurston Platinum Pudding Recipes book costs £5 and is available now from Thurston Library. From Saturday 4 June the book will also be on sale from Thurst, the café at Thurston’s New Green Centre during the Platinum Family Day.

The book contains 47 wonderful, tempting recipes for family and friends to cook and relish. From the light and healthy to the naughty and indulgent, the book is packed with favourite and memorable puddings. The recipes have been contributed by people living in and near Thurston, their relations, and friends.

The centre of the book focuses on how Thurston has developed and changed during the reign of the Queen and provides a fascinating insight into the village’s growth.

The Thurston-based estate agent, allhomes, has sponsored the book and all profits from its sale will be shared between Suffolk Community Foundation, The Queen’s Green Canopy, Gatehouse and Storehouse Food Banks.

Thurston Library hosts a monthly baking group, where people can bring along a home-made cake to enjoy and share baking tips with others.
