Calling all crime fans! Slaughter in Southwold event celebrates ten years.

Suffolk Libraries is thrilled to announce that the popular crime festival Slaughter in Southwold is returning in June, marking its tenth year since the festival was launched in 2013.

This year’s programme takes place on Saturday 15 and Sunday 16 June, and features a variety of crime and thriller novelists, including Nicci French, The Reverend Richard Coles, and local favourite Elly Griffiths.

Slaughter in Southwold is part of Southwold Arts Festival and all events will be held at Southwold Arts Centre. The festival is organised by Southwold Library with support from the Friends of Southwold Library and the Crime Writers’ Association (CWA).

Previous authors have included Anthony Horowitz, Chris Carter, Rory Clements, Helen Fields and many more.

Charlotte Clark, Executive Library Manager for Southwold Library, said:

“We can’t believe that 2024 will mark our tenth ‘Slaughter in Southwold’ festival, an event that has grown and grown since its small beginnings in 2013 as ‘Slaughter in the Scout Hut’. We are so lucky to have bagged, yet again, an amazing line up including our very special guest the Reverend Richard Coles. People can enjoy a whole weekend hearing from firm favourites, discovering new reads, enjoying local food and solving a murder mystery or a quiz night!”

Individual author events are £6 each. You can also book a Saturday pass and Sunday pass for £20 each, or a full weekend pass for £40. All tickets are available to book online via TicketSource.
