Marvellous and Mischievous - Suffolk Libraries returns to Latitude Festival!

Latitude Festival

Suffolk Libraries, the charity which runs the county’s library service, is delighted to announce its return to Latitude Festival in Suffolk for its 16th year.

Staff and volunteers from Suffolk Libraries will be part of the entertainment for children and families at this year’s festival at Henham Park near Southwold.

In collaboration with Suffolk Archives, the theme for 2022 is ‘Mischievous & Marvellous’, with a nod to the science and innovation topic of this year’s Summer Reading Challenge.

Suffolk Libraries will be setting up camp in two medieval tents from Friday 22 July to Sunday 24 July. Alongside an array of craft activities, Suffolk Libraries will be joined by special guests Tonia Wilson and Rock Paper Scissors.

Tonia Wilson from Aspire Black Suffolk will be hosting one of the tents on Saturday 23 July. Tonia will be facilitating storytelling workshops throughout the day, encouraging families and children to tell stories of when they have been mischievous and marvellous. There will also be audio recording and archiving the stories with people’s consent.

Arts collective Rock Paper Scissors will be joining the festival on Sunday 24 July to run some art activities linked to both the Marvellous and Mischievous and the Gadgeteers theme.

Suffolk Libraries presence at Latitude will also be in keeping with our 10 Year Anniversary celebrations, celebrating the vast array of resources and activities that the countywide service has to offer and has delivered over the past decade.
