Get ready for Christmas with our Twenty Minute Tales on Thursday 7 and Thursday 14 December! Enjoy a special festive-themed storytime session in our library corner with colourful picture books to delight your little one and engage their imagination.

Festive Family Library Lates at Ipswich Library

Come along for a very merry mini makers market at Ipswich County Library for children and their families on Thursday 7 December and Thursday 14 December! Join us in our beautiful Lecture Hall space for a cosy evening of hot chocolate, stories and simple handcrafted gifts for children to make and share with a loved one this winter. The perfect way to keep warm and keep your little ones entertained during Festive Thursdays!

Gainsborough Library Christmas Fair

Come along for a very merry afternoon at our Christmas Fair on Friday 8 December! We'll have a variety of stalls selling festive gifts for you to treat yourself or a loved one to, as well as craft activities for children, carol singing, tombola and a raffle!

Christmas Party at Ipswich Library

Join us at the library for our Christmas party on Saturday 9 December!

As part of the Christmas Ipswich Weekender we are throwing a party with games, music, a festive Wobbling Santa craft, yummy food and drink, presents and more! All ages are welcome, but the stories, crafts and games are best suited to children aged 4-10. Christmas jumpers optional!

Family Festive Fun at Great Cornard Library

Come along and enjoy a morning of festive fun for all ages at the library on Sunday 10 December!

There will lots of Christmas themed activities to take part in including Christmas crafts, Christmas storytelling, a book trail for children and a Christmas quiz for all the family. A chance to win a Christmas bear by guessing their name and Christmas greenery bouquets and Christmas Eve preparation packs to buy.

Crafty Christmas at Oulton Broad Library

Join us for a festive craft session for children on Sunday 10 December! Come down and get involved with free creative crafts and take your creations home with you to decorate for Christmas.

Meet Santa at Southwold Library

Santa Claus is coming to Southwold Library on Saturday 9 December and Saturday 16 December! Come along and get your photo taken with Santa, enjoy some reindeer crafts and take some festive goodies home with you.

Wreath Making Workshops at Broomhill Library

Fancy making your own Christmas wreath with locally gathered greenery? Come along to Broomhill Library's wreath making workshop, suitable for teens and adults!

We have two workshops taking place - one on Tuesday 12 December and one on Saturday 16 December. All materials will be provided.

Festive Upcycling with Clare Sams at Hadleigh Library

Join textiles artist and Suffolk Libraries' Environmentalist in Residence Clare Sams for a free festive upcycling session at Hadleigh Library on Saturday 16 December! Suitable for adults and young people aged 12 and over.

The local craft of Suffolk Puff making has been traditionally used to create a type of patchwork for blankets and cushions by using scrap fabrics. Come and learn how to re-use fabrics and simple stitching techniques to create sustainable festive decorations for your home.

Angel Book Folding Workshops at Glemsford Library

Join us for an afternoon of fun crafting and a cuppa in the welcoming space of the library! Learn the art of book folding and recycle old books to make a beautiful Christmas decoration for your home. All materials will be provided but attendees are welcome to bring their own book to re-use.

Workshops will be held on Friday 15 December and Tuesday 19 December. The first workshop will cover the basic folding techniques and the second will cover the final decoration needed to complete your angel.

Film screening of A Christmas Carol at Southwold Library

Enjoy film screening of A Christmas Carol at Southwold Arts Centre on Sunday 17 December! Based on Charles Dickens’s own performance adaptation, Simon Callow and director Tom Cairns have created a one-man theatrical extravaganza of festive storytelling that is both heart-warming and deeply moving.

Little Storymakers Christmas Special at Gainsborough Library

Join us at Gainsborough Library on Tuesday 19 December for our special Christmas edition of Little Storymakers! Come along and listen to some stories, make some crafts and more festive fun. Suitable for pre-school children.

Christmas Storytime and Crafts at Glemsford

Kathy the Elf is back for Christmas! Come along to Glemsford Library on Friday 22 December and enjoy a fun afternoon of festive stories and crafts, suitable for 2 to 8 year olds.

We'll be making some lovely Christmas crafts for you to take home with you, before settling down to some wonderful Christmas stories, told by Kathy the Elf. Santa himself may be taking some time off from his very busy pre-Christmas schedule to pop in and say hello!

Santa's Grotto at Lowestoft Library

Santa's coming to Lowestoft! Have you been good this year? Come and visit Santa in his grotto at the library! Meet and chat with him, grab a selfie and receive a special gift for you to take home with you. Suitable for pre-school and primary-school aged children.

Santa will be visiting Lowestoft Library every Saturday throughout December, before flying off on his reindeer-led sleigh to deliver everyone's presents.

Cuppa and Company at Leiston Library

Leiston Library is opening its doors on Christmas Day to anyone who'd like a cuppa and company! Pop in to the library from 10AM to 11.30AM on Monday 25 December for hot drinks and festive nibbles in a warm and welcoming space.
