Aldeburgh Library will be getting a makeover this autumn with an extensive refurbishment planned for September. The library is also soon welcoming a new manager with Caroline Boyd due to start later in July.

The Summer Reading Challenge is the UK's biggest reading for pleasure programme in libraries for primary school aged children, with 800,000 children taking part last year. 2015 was the most successful ever in Suffolk with over 8,200 children signing up and as 2016 is officially Suffolk Libraries’ Year of Reading, it’s hoped that this summer will be another huge success.

Suffolk Libraries – an update on our budget for 2016/2017

Suffolk County Council approved their budget proposals at February’s full council meeting which included a reduction to the library service budget of £650,000 over two years. Suffolk Libraries Board have since agreed to the reduction of £350,000 for 2016/17.

Glemsford Library refurbishment and temporary closure
