Skulduggery in Stowmarket: Ruth Dugdall: A Life of Crime - from probation officer to crime author
Ruth Dugdall is the author of seven novels, focussing of topics including human trafficking (Nowhere Girl), children who kill (Humber Boy B) and cannibalism (The Sacrificial Man). Her first novel, The Woman Before Me, won the 2005 Crime Writers’ Association Debut Dagger.
Ruth studied English literature at Warwick university before training as a probation officer. Her novels are informed by her direct experiences working within the Criminal Justice System and are published internationally. Most of her writing is set in Suffolk, where she lives with her husband and two children.
