Join us for a guided walking, drawing and casting workshop around Framlingham led by Suffolk artist Eleanor Rodwell. Using your provided materials pack, you’ll be lead on a guided walk with drawing activities along the route. There will be opportunities to look, observe, and sketch your surroundings through fun drawing exercises, using found materials such as blackberries and mud, or trying to capture a sound or movement. Everyone will collect a small natural form that they’re drawn to, for example, a seed-head, bark or leaves.
Booking is required. This event is free to attend but spaces are limited. You can book your place online or by speaking with a member of staff at Framlingham Library. This event will run from 10.30AM to 3.30PM.
Following on from this, participants will enjoy a simple casting activity at the library. Everyone will press their collected form into a clay disc and build a simple mould. Whilst waiting for your cast to set, Eleanor will talk through our Wild Reads list and discuss creative, easy ways to engage with our local landscapes.
Please wear warm clothes and suitable walking shoes.
