Join us for a special Slaughter in Southwold author talk with Maureen Paton! Maureen will be talking to us about her career so far and her first novel The Mystery at Rake Hall. This event takes place at Southwold Arts Centre, IP18 6JP.
Maureen Paton is a freelance journalist specialising in arts,
showbusiness and women's issues. She is the author of two works of
non-fiction and is a former committee member and former newsletter
editor of the campaigning organisation Women in Journalism.
The
Mystery at Rake Hall is her first novel and begins a superb new
historical crime series set in post-war Oxford in which university don
C.S. Lewis finds himself an unlikely detective solving a mystery
surrounding a hostel for unmarried mothers. Maureen Paton’s own mother
lived at the real-life Rake Hall in Oxford while pregnant with her. This
personal story inspired Maureen to write the novel.
This event is part of Slaughter in Southwold, an annual celebration of crime and thriller at Southwold Arts Centre. In partnership with Southwold Library and the Crime Writers’ Association (CWA).
