Join Jean for a free in-person Pilates class for all abilities at Lowestoft Library!

Booking is required. Limited equipment will be provided, but you are welcome to bring your own mat. Please wear comfortable clothing and we also recommend bringing water to stay hydrated. Please note: the session involves regular movement between standing and floor positions without assistance. We encourage you to consult your GP before attending if you have any concerns.

April sessions are now open for booking, and May’s schedule will be released at the end of April.

Spaces are limited. If you book and can no longer attend, please email: movingminds@suffolklibraries.co.uk

What is Pilates?

Pilates is a low-impact form of exercise that focuses on flexibility, muscular strength, and endurance. It emphasises proper postural alignment, core strength, and muscle balance.

This friendly and supportive class is especially ideal for beginners. Whether you're new to exercise or trying Pilates for the first time, Jean will guide you through each movement at a gentle pace, with clear instructions and options to suit your ability. You don’t need any previous experience—just a willingness to move, stretch, and have a go in a relaxed and welcoming environment.

Please note: These free sessions are made possible through external funding. To keep them going, we do need consistent attendance — if numbers are low, we may need to pause or cancel future sessions.
