I had seen reviews and recommendations for this on social media so decided I wanted to give it a read. I love YA fiction and the subjects it will grab & explore.
Elouise is looking for the most awesome summer of her life so far. Only it becomes quite obvious early on that some things are going to get in the way to stop that from happening.
Her favourite theme park is closing, her crush already has a girlfriend, she's going to be dressed as a hot dog for the entire summer and her best friend is not impressed with the actions she wants to put into place to help manipulate her summer into the one she thought she was to going to have.
Lou's summer may not start the way she intended and it may not end the way she thought but she learns some very important lessons along the way and outcomes she didn't expect. This is a charming coming-of-age queer romance book that I fully embraced from the moment I picked it up to the last page I turned.
This is the debut book of author Jennifer Dugan and what a book to start with! I will be delving into 'Verona Comics' as soon as I can get my hands on a copy! I gave this book 4/5 stars.
