Suffolk Libraries welcomes new Community Mental Health and Wellbeing Manager

Suffolk Libraries, the charity which runs the county’s library service, is welcoming a new Community Mental Health and Wellbeing Manager

Jane Cox joins Suffolk Libraries from a community arts background after previously working at the John Peel Centre in Stowmarket as Strategic Manager.

Suffolk Libraries is the only library service in the country with its own mental health and wellbeing service. Jane will be leading this service and ensuring the work of Suffolk Libraries continues to have a big impact on people’s wellbeing across the community.

Jane said:

“I'm really driven and inspired by community engagement and in Suffolk the local library seems to be at the very centre and the beating heart of each community. Suffolk Libraries has a fantastic reputation and I am honoured to have the opportunity to contribute to its future and development.

“Libraries are fantastic spaces, which are free and easy to access. This means lots of people access our spaces and services and I believe we're well positioned to support our communities with looking after their mental health.

“I'm really looking forward to working with, and getting to know, the Suffolk Libraries team and meeting the people that access and benefit from our services.”
