Suffolk Libraries welcomes John Grose as first PAWS-itivity sponsor

East Anglian motor dealer John Grose has been announced as the first sponsor of Suffolk Libraries PAWS-itivity fundraising campaign.

PAWS-itivity is Suffolk Libraries biggest ever fundraising campaign which will see colourful dog sculptures in all of the county’s libraries this summer. The ‘Library Labradors’ will all feature designs individually created by local artists.

Sarah Frost, Marketing Manager for John Grose, said:

“At John Grose we try to support as many charities in the local community as we can, and with this campaign being linked to an appreciation of the arts, it seemed like a natural choice for our DS brand to be involved in too, with many artists being involved in the creation of our new DS vehicles.”

One of the dogs has started to pop up in different places around county and his adventures can be followed on Instagram on @pawsitivity_tails. His visits have included Southwold and Ipswich libraries, Framlingham Castle, Jimmy’s Farm, the Aldeburgh Scallop and Trinity Park.

John Grose kindly created a Golden Labrador to mark their sponsorship and support for PAWS-itivity.

John Grose took a shine to the concept of these positive pooches and their accident repair shop has kindly created an amazing Golden Labrador to mark their sponsorship and support to help support the amazing work Suffolk Libraries does in communities across Suffolk as a charity.

The aim is for all the dogs to appear at the Suffolk Show later this year before appearing in libraries. They will then return to Trinity Park to be auctioned in October with the help of auctioneers, Clarke & Simpson.

Suffolk Libraries is keen to hear from other local companies who’d be interested in supporting the campaign and has already had a great response from local artists keen to apply their designs to the dogs in the coming months.

Sponsorship gives companies the chance to align their social values with Suffolk libraries and root their business in the local community by supporting a much-loved and vital Suffolk charity. For more information about sponsoring one of the dogs, visit our PAWS-itivity sponsorship page.

The event aims to raise money to support Suffolk Libraries work at the heart of the community. It will also raise awareness of Suffolk Libraries as an independent charity that needs additional funding to nurture literacy, improve health and wellbeing and create accessible arts opportunities for local people.

PAWS-itivity is also highlighting the work of other charities including Pets as Therapy, Suffolk Pride and Realise Futures.

Bruce Leeke, Chief Executive at Suffolk Libraries, said:

“We’re delighted to welcome John Grose as our first PAWS-itivity sponsor and wholeheartedly thank them for their support. We are keen to spread some PAWS-itivity this year by working with lots of local organisations and artists on this exciting new project. It’s all about bringing fun and colour to people across Suffolk whilst also raising much needed funds to support the work of our amazing charity.”
