Free festive online discussion with bestselling author Karen Swan

Suffolk Libraries’ DiscoveReads online book group will be hosting an online chat with bestselling author and former fashion journalist Karen Swan this Thursday.

Karen will be giving a reading from her new book Together By Christmas as well as answering questions via a live Zoom chat on Thursday 17 December at 6pm.

The eAudiobook version of her earlier title Christmas in the Snow is one of the chosen monthly reads of the DiscoveReads group and can be borrowed via the Suffolk Libraries BorrowBox service.

This is the third online author event hosted by the DiscoveReads group with previous discussions proving popular. You don’t need to be a member of the group and anyone is welcome to sign up and enjoy the event. Tickets are free but Suffolk Libraries would welcome any donations to support its work across Suffolk. You can book a place via Zoom.

Lisa Brennan, Content and Reader Development Librarian at Suffolk Libraries will be chatting to Karen on Thursday. She said:

“We are thrilled that our recently formed DiscoveReads online book group and author events are proving popular with our readers. For December we have arranged the perfect festive unlimited title; Christmas in the Snow by Karen Swan and are excited that Karen, a Sunday Times bestselling author, will be joining us for an online talk. We are already arranging talks with many other fantastic authors that will be taking place in 2021, to be the first to know about them, make sure you join our DiscoveReads FB group.”

You can join the DiscoveReads book group via Facebook.

Together by Christmas is a gripping, surprising and heart-warming novel this Christmas, set in snowy Amsterdam where ice thickens along the canal and hidden secrets resurface in the run up to the holiday.

Karen Swan began her career in fashion journalism before giving it all up to raise her three children and a puppy, and to pursue her ambition of becoming a writer. Her bestselling novels include the summer romances The Rome Affair, The Greek Escape and The Spanish Promise. She lives in Sussex with her family.

Suffolk Libraries has added a special Winter Warmers section to its website full of suggested books, eMagazines and music which are perfect for a cosy night by the fire over the festive and winter period. All the titles are available from the eLibrary catalogue.
