Suffolk Libraries launches new opportunity for aspiring authors

Suffolk Libraries is launching a new opportunity for aspiring authors to get their work published in a new eBook anthology next week.

This call-out is part of Suffolk Libraries’ Suffolk Writes project and officially opens on Monday 1 November, which is also National Authors Day.

Participants can submit any short stories or poems that they own the copyright to.

An anthology of all accepted work will be published to Suffolk Libraries’ OverDrive platform as an eBook which can be read by all Suffolk Libraries customers. The anthology is due to be made available online in January 2022.

Lisa Brennan, Content and Reader Development Librarian at Suffolk Libraries said:

“I’m excited to open up submissions for our new annual anthology! Each submission will be read by one of our fantastic volunteers and added to an eBook which will be launched in the New Year. If you’re a budding writer and would like to share your work to be included in this great project, we would love to hear from you!”

Anyone interested has until the end of November to submit their short stories or poems by emailing their work to suffolkwrites@suffolklibraries.co.uk.

You can find more details about how to apply on our Suffolk Writes page.
