'Scenes in and around Haverhill' - photos needed for fundraising calendar

Haverhill Library is running a photography competition and are appealing for contributions to create a 2022 wall calendar encapsulating community life in Haverhill.

The theme is ‘Scenes in and around Haverhill’, and is open to any budding photographers who want to get involved. Winning photos will be selected for the 2022 wall calendar which will then go on sale by early November. The funds raised from the sale going to the Friends of Haverhill Library group who support their library.

Entrants can submit up to four photos depicting scenes from all around Haverhill and one picture per entrant will be shortlisted for the competition, and the overall winning photograph will appear on the front cover of the calendar.

Photos can be taken on any device, including mobile phones. Photos should be landscape and must have a minimum size of 2MB.

The deadline for the competition is midday on Monday 4 October. Photos must be submitted to FOHLcalendarcomp@gmail.com. Entrants must include their name, address and phone number in their submissions, along with a description of the photo, and when and where it was taken.

Terms of the competition

  • Entrants agree to allow their photos to be cropped if necessary

  • The photo must be taken by the entrant and they must own the copyright

  • By submitting the photo, entrants agree to allow for it to be included in the Friends of Haverhill Library 2022 calendar if selected

  • Entrants who submit a photo that is selected for inclusion in the calendar agree not to use the selected photo elsewhere before the end of 2022, other than for publicising the calendar

  • Entrants will keep the copyright to their photos

  • All entrants give permission for their photos to be featured in future publicity, including on the Suffolk Libraries website and social media, and on Haverhill Library’s social media
