Newmarket Library launches reading competition for 2022

Newmarket Library have launched a new reading challenge which encourages borrowers to read 22 books over 2022.

The challenge, called 'Read 22' will run for the whole year and a board will be on display in the library that allows people to write reviews of the books they have read and add them to the board.

Samantha Street, one of the staff members taking part, said:

We're trying to encourage readers to explore all genres held by the library. I'm enjoying reading more non-fiction as part of this challenge and already we've had two extra readers who have sent in reviews. I'm also trying to read books connected to our other displays, so I have books coming out of my ears!

The launch of this challenge coincides with a new Holocaust Memorial Day display which shares information from the Anne Frank House Museum and the Holocaust Memorial Day Trust and features two book collections, one for adults and one for children.

If you're willing to take the challenge, visit Newmarket Library to borrow some new titles and leave a review on the Read 22 board.

If you're stuck for ideas on what to borrow, take a look at our reading recommendations.
