It’s National Authors Day on 1 November and we’re marking the occasion by sharing some of the many ways that Suffolk Libraries highlights authors and everything on offer to help you find the next read!
In our latest Meet the Author post, suspense and thriller writer Andrew Child said:
"Keep on supporting your local libraries. Keep on supporting your local independent bookshops. But most of all, keep on reading!"
Andrew Child is the author of several books including the David Trevellyan series and the Paul McGrath series, as well as the younger brother of author Lee Child who we interviewed in 2016.
In his interview, Lee Child gave libraries his backing by stating:
"The value of a good library cannot be underestimated. Own a library card and the world is yours to discover. Thank you for reading and supporting your local library."
These interviews are only three of the many author interviews that are posted on our website. A new Meet the Author interview goes live on our website every Tuesday. There have been 162 Meet the Author articles to-date since 2015.
Speaking to us in October, Elly Griffiths gave an online talk about her latest title. Her latest book, The Postscript Murders is available to reserve from our libraries. Other author talks are being planned to take place in the future.
The eAudiobook of the first of the Ruth Galloway series, The Crossing Places was an unlimited title on our BorrowBox in October and a chosen title for our DiscoverReads book group. The title consequently became one of the most borrowed on our BorrowBox in October.
