Gainsborough Library offers young people a chance to design new STEM activity programme

Gainsborough Community Library will be taking part in the Reading Sparks programme by the Reading Agency which sees young people aged 14 - 18 helping to develop their library activities for families and children.

The young people will work with library staff and youth workers to design new reading and science activities to engage families with children aged 4-11 in the library space and online.

The campaign aims to build confidence and awareness of STEM among children, young people and families.

Reading Sparks bags are available for families to borrow free of charge - aimed at children aged 8 - 11 - from Gainsborough Community Library. Each bag contains a fiction or non-fiction book, some activity sheets and all the equipment needed to finish the activities. A Crest award and badge are offered upon completion.
