The Suffolk Libraries Day online book festival is returning for March 2023!
The festival features online interviews with a number of top authors including Elly Griffiths, Jill Mansell, Sarah Pearse and more. The festival takes place between 6 and 12 March with a different author interviewed every day.
Suffolk Libraries Day itself is Saturday 11 March and there will be other activities taking place in libraries during that weekend.
2023 marks the fourth Suffolk Libraries Day event which was launched in 2019 to raise funds to support Suffolk Libraries and celebrate the county’s library service. The live online author interviews will all take place over Zoom and you can book your place via the Suffolk Libraries website. Tickets for the events are free but any donations are appreciated and can be made when booking.
Elly Griffiths is one of the most popular authors amongst Suffolk Libraries book-borrowers and is joined in the full line up by Ruth Ware, Chris Carter, Jack Jordan, Jill Mansell, Janice Hallett and Sarah Pearse.

Thriller novelist Ruth Ware - Monday 6 March, 7PM to 8PM
Ruth Ware will be talking about her latest title, The It Girl. Ruth Ware is an international number one bestseller. Her thrillers, In a Dark, Dark Wood, The Woman in Cabin 10, The Lying Game, The Death of Mrs Westaway, The Turn of the Key and One by One have appeared on bestseller lists around the world, including the Sunday Times and New York Times. Her books have been optioned for both film and TV, and she is published in more than 40 languages.
Crime writer Chris Carter - Tuesday 7 March, 7PM to 8PM
Chris will be talking about his latest title, Genesis. Chris Carter is a top bestselling author in the United Kingdom, whose books include An Evil Mind, One By One, The Death Sculptor, The Night Stalker, The Executioner, and The Crucifix Killer. He worked as a criminal psychologist for several years before moving to Los Angeles, where he swapped the suits and briefcases for ripped jeans, bandanas, and an electric guitar.
Internationally bestselling author Jack Jordan - Wednesday 8 March, 7PM to 8PM
Jack will be talking to us about his latest title, Do No Harm. Jack Jordan is the global bestselling author of Anything for Her, My Girl, A Woman Scorned, Before Her Eyes, and Night by Night and an Amazon No.1 bestseller in the UK, Canada, and Australia. The idea for Do No Harm came to Jack after undergoing a minor medical procedure where he had to be sedated and trust strangers with his welfare.
Bestselling romance author Jill Mansell - Thursday 9 March, 7PM to 8PM
Jill will be talking about her latest title, Promise Me. Jill Mansell started writing fiction while working in the NHS, after she read a magazine article that inspired her to join a local creative writing class. She has since written over twenty Sunday Times bestsellers, including And Now You’re Back, It Started With A Secret, Maybe This Time, This Could Change Everything, The One You Really Want and You And Me, Always. Her books have sold over 13 million copies around the world.
Murder-mystery author Janice Hallett - Friday 10 March, 7PM to 8PM
Janice Hallett will be talking about her upcoming title, The Mysterious Case of the Alperton Angels. Janice Hallett is a former magazine editor, award-winning journalist and government communications writer. She wrote articles and speeches for, among others, the Cabinet Office, Home Office and Department for International Development. Her enthusiasm for travel has taken her around the world several times and her debut book The Appeal won the Crime Writers’ Association New Blood award.
Suspense novelist Sarah Pearse - Saturday 11 March, 7PM to 8PM
Sarah will be talking about her latest title, The Retreat. Sarah studied English and Creative Writing at the University of Warwick and worked in Brand PR for a variety of households brands before following her passion for writing. Her experiences living in the Swiss Alps in her early twenties inspired her acclaimed debut novel, The Sanatorium.
Award-winning crime writer Elly Griffiths - Sunday 12 March, 7PM to 8PM
Elly will be talking about her upcoming title, The Last Remains. Elly Griffiths is the bestselling author of the Dr Ruth Galloway Mysteries and the Brighton Mysteries. She has won the CWA Dagger in the Library, has been shortlisted four times for the Theakston’s Old Peculier Crime Novel of the Year, and longlisted for the CWA Gold Dagger for The Lantern Men. Her new series featuring Detective Harbinder Kaur began with The Stranger Diaries, which was a Richard and Judy book club pick and won the Edgar Award for Best Novel in the USA. The Postscript Murders followed and was shortlisted for the CWA Gold Dagger.

More events for Suffolk Libraries Day will be confirmed nearer the time and Suffolk Libraries are also hosting two Live at the Library gigs at Capel St Mary Library on Saturday 4 March and Stowmarket Library on Friday 10 March. Both gigs will feature local band A Light Left On with support from The Lightning Club.
