Suffolk Libraries are working with Booktrust and Suffolk County Council to provide baby packs to customers as part of the Bookstart Baby programme.

The programme offers every child aged 0-12 months a free pack of books and resources, designed to support and encourage families to read with their child as early as possible.

These packs contain:

  • Two free age-appropriate books for the child, recommended by health visitors and librarians.
  • A colourful rhyme sheet for singalong fun
  • A parental guidance booklet titled Reading With Your Child: 0-12 Months

These packs are available to collect from all Suffolk library branches with the exception of Saxmundham Library, as it is due to move next year.

Anyone interested in picking up a bag is advised to check their library opening times over Christmas or give their local library a call before visiting.
