All necessary safety precautions are in place at libraries which are reopening in July 2020 following the COVID-19 lockdown.
This in line with government guidance on managing the risk of COVID-19 and includes the following:
- Risk assessments have been carried out on all library buildings and the mobile libraries. These have been made available to staff.
- Cleaning, handwashing and hygiene procedures are in place in line with the guidance. This includes making hand sanitiser available for staff and customers.
- Measures will be in place to ensure staff and customers follow social distancing guidelines
We have new procedures in place and have made temporary changes to our services to reduce the risk to staff and customers as much as possible. These changes are clearly displayed in posters in the library and are listed in detail on our COVID-19 information page.
